  We should get the local historian Ralph Lea write a more accurate account of the history of Sacramento St. Oh the stereotypes of the St. are amusing. But let's talk about the real history.

  With the closing of the RR depot back in the 70's was the icing on the cake for the demise of Sacramento St. Once an area bustling with commerce. It was an extension
  of School St. Whether it be Southern Pacific or Union Pacific, their decisions have played a key role in the disposition of Sacramento St. The RR easement stretches from Lodi Ave to Lockeford St and on both sides of the tracks to Main and Sacramento St. It's no coincidence how the re-opening of the RR depot has generated new interest on Sacramento St.

  “The melee quieted down quickly when six or seven police cars from neighboring police agencies came skidding up to the scene.” Huh? So where did these half-dozen or so police cars come from; Galt, Stockton, Woodbridge? What was the balance of our own city’s police force doing while help came from these “neighboring police agencies?”
