(StatePoint) After spending the cooler months neglected, backyards and patios get lots of use during the warmer months, when barbecuing and outdoor entertaining season is in full swing.

To ensure your family and friends can enjoy your outdoor space, make sure it’s in good shape with some quick cleaning. It’s easy with just a little elbow grease, water and bleach.

There are many quick outdoor cleaning jobs for which you can use high quality bleach, like Clorox Regular-Bleach, concentrated. For instance, remove moss and mildew stains from patios, and remove stains from patio furniture. Before loading up the cooler with drinks and snacks, sanitize it and eliminate odors -- a task many people overlook.

Another easy way to spruce up outdoor spaces is with pots and planters. When reusing them, it’s important to prevent transfer of molds and diseases from old to new plants. You can do so by soaking them for five minutes in a solution of 1/2 cup Clorox Regular-Bleach, concentrated, per gallon of water, and then rinsing them out.

These instructions and more outdoor cleaning tips can be found at http://cloroxinfographics.tumblr.com/.

While rolling stones gather no moss, patios do, and need regular cleaning!

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
