Tips for Making Your Home Cozier this Winter
(StatePoint) Your house is a refuge from the outside world, and in the cooler months, there's nothing more comforting than coming in from the brisk air to an inviting home.
How do you ensure your home is warm and snuggly for your family this winter?
Here are some toasty tips for a cozy season from the experts at Sun Products, the makers of Snuggle fabric softener:
Keep Out the Cold
When you get home each day, take off those street shoes and put on some fuzzy slippers. Your toes will thank you.
Don't neglect your fireplace this season. Snuggle up by the fire with a great book or a loved one. For safety's sake, be sure your fireplace is well-maintained. Never leave a fire unattended.
Remember to seal up cracks around window frames and doorways by applying weather-stripping. It's easy to do and will make a world of difference.
Soften Up
A long winter can be a bit bleak. Get happy by snuggling with loved ones. A recent Ipsos survey found that 94 percent of Americans feel happier by doing so. So make your couch the perfect cuddle den with big throw pillows and soft blankets.
You can create comfier rooms all around the house by giving your fabrics a touch of softness. Treat sheets, linens, blankets and other laundry with a liquid fabric softener like Snuggle Blue Sparkle, for example, which provides fabrics with a long-lasting freshness. And don’t forget the dryer sheets to reduce static cling, which is rampant in wintertime.
A hot shower is a great thing in winter. But when you turn the water off, you can keep the cozy feeling going with soft, fluffy fresh-scented towels and robes. Give sweaters and other clothing the same dual fabric softener treatment for cozier living overall. Soft lighting, soft sheets and a plush comforter will make your home’s bedrooms the most comfy rooms in the house.

Kitchen Comfort
It's called comfort food for a reason. Just the smell of delicious food cooking can evoke pleasant memories of winters past. So let your kitchen fill your entire home with warmth this season by creating hearty soups and stews and baking delicious pies and cookies. And don't forget the hot cocoa!
