(BPT) - Managing diabetes just got a little bit easier. For the first time in history J.D. Power and Associates, the premier market research firm, has reviewed blood glucose meters based on feedback and insights from nearly 3,000 people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. According to this inaugural J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Blood Glucose Meter Satisfaction StudySM, Roche Diabetes Care’s ACCU-CHEK® ranked “Highest in Overall Satisfaction with Blood Glucose Meters.” The study looked at meter performance, ease-of-use, cost of test strips and training. Now with the results of this new customer satisfaction study, people with diabetes can be confident with their meter choice.

“A blood glucose meter is one of the most important tools for people with diabetes as it empowers them to independently manage their diabetes on a daily basis,” said Debbie Hinnen, a diabetes educator and director of education services at Mid-America Diabetes Associates. “Therefore, a meter that is accurate and easy to use is key as it helps to ensure patients make informed decisions about their meal plan, exercise, insulin use and other lifestyle challenges.”

The survey comes on the heels of two new product launches from Roche in the past 12 months – ACCU-CHEK Aviva Plus and ACCU-CHEK Nano SmartView systems – both of which deliver advanced accuracy as tested against a 23% tighter specification.1

ACCU-CHEK meters are available in pharmacies and retailers nationwide as well as online. For more information, please visit www.accu-chek.com.
