Michael R. Klayer, 62, of Lodi, died Aug. 22. He was born Nov. 17, 1949 in Sacramento.

Mr. Klayer graduated from El Camino High School in Sacramento. He worked as a dispatcher for many years and worked for Safeway for over 30 years in that capacity. He had a passion for coaching youth soccer and softball and later umpiring, and spending time with his family. He was a member of The Home Church in Lodi.

He is survived by his wife, Lorna O’Ceallaigh of Lodi; daughters, Karla Klayer-Geach of Elk Grove, Colleen Faulkner of Lodi, Katie Kallis of Lodi and Molly O’Ceallaigh of Santa Cruz; sons, Brian O’Ceallaigh and Jake O’Ceallaigh, both of San Francisco; and 11 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at The Home Church, 11451 N. West Lane, Lodi. Inurnment will be private at Cherokee Memorial Park.

Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
