Judy Mary Romero, 62, of San Francisco and formerly of Lodi, died unexpectedly April 28 in San Francisco. She was born Sept. 24, 1944, in Thornton.

Ms. Romero moved at the age of 10 with her family to Lodi, where she graduated from Lodi High School in 1961. She then attended nursing school, and completed the two-year program at Stockton College. She served in the Peace Corps for two years as a nurse, and then worked at a hospital in Hawaii for a couple of years. Later, she was employed at UCSF Hospital for 25 years until her recent retirement.

She is survived by her brother, Don Romero, of Stockton; and sister, Madeline Romero Blackwood, of San Jose.

There will be no visitation and committal will be private.

Lodi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
