Jean May, 93, of Lodi, died Feb. 22. She was born Dec. 7, 1920 in Stockton.

Mrs. May served her country as a nurse in the Navy, and was one of the first female meter maids to work for the Stockton Police Department. She was a long time resident of Stockton and lived the past several years in Lodi. She was an avid reader and enjoyed humor.

She is survived by her son, Chuck May of Sacramento; daughter, Millie Trojacek of Wallace; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at 11a.m. Tuesday at St. Joachim Catholic Church, 13392 Lockeford Ranch Drive, Lockeford.

Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
