Ella Bernice Weis, 89, of Galt, died Nov. 14 of natural causes. She was born on Feb. 4, 1923 in Ogallala, Neb.

Mrs. Weis moved to Galt in 1965. She was a teacher who taught at St. Anne's, Live Oak and Arcohe elementary schools, retiring after 41 years. She enjoyed traveling and word games.

She is survived by her daughters, Pegi Johnson of Galt and Patti Van Steenberge of San Francisco; longtime companion, Ethel Lundgren of Lodi; and three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emanuel Charles Weis.

At her request, there will be no services.

Ben Sales Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
