Ina Marie (Coe) Boyer, 87, of Lodi, died Dec. 1. She was born April 19, 1926, in Spokane, Wash.

Mrs. Boyer attended local schools in Lodi and graduated from Lodi High School in 1944. She earned her Associate of Arts degree from the College of the Pacific. She worked for the Olathe, Kan. school system, at Hollywood Beach School in Oxnard and later as a secretary for St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Lodi.

She retired from Lodi Unified School District in 1994, where she worked as a clerk/typist. Mrs. Boyer was a long-time member of St. Anne’s and served 20 years in the CCD program as a catechist. Upon receiving her certification in pastoral theology at USF, she served the diocese of Stockton as a master catechist. She enjoyed ministry as a Communion server, lector and “dust angel,” and served a term as chancellor of the Daughters of Isabella, Circle 1332.

She is survived by her husband, Harvey Boyer Sr.; sons, Harvey Boyer Jr., James Boyer and Lee Boyer; daughter, Michelle Hoskins; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 215, W. Walnut St., Lodi. A reception to follow in St. Anne’s Hall. Inurnment will be private.

Memorial donations can be made to St. Anne’s Church Plaza, 215, W. Walnut St., Lodi, CA 95240; to the Dialysis Unit at Lodi Memorial Hospital, 975, S. Fairmont St., Lodi, CA 95240; or to the donor’s choice.

Rocha’s All Faiths Cremation & Burial is assisting the family with arrangements.
