Ernestina "China" De Mena, 81, of Galt, died April 10. She was born Ernestina Torres on July 23, 1930 in Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Mrs. De Mena was a cook for a farm labor camp. She enjoyed singing, cooking, crocheting, gardening and trips to Lake Tahoe.

She is survived by her sons, Aurelio, Roberto, Sabino, Antonio, Jesus, Paul and Corey; daughters, Manuela, Rebecca, Raquel and Utonya; 30 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m Friday at Ben Salas Funeral Home. Committal will follow at 2 p.m. at the Galt Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Ben Salas Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
