Gilberto Origel Jimenez, 53, of Thornton, died Jan. 27. He was born July 21, 1959 in Jalisco, Mexico.

Mr. Jimenez was a retired farm laborer. He was a lector and active member of Mater Ecciesiae Church.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Soledad Origel; daughters, Norma Sandoval of Galt, Juana Jimenez of Walnut Grove and Aurora Origel of Thornton; son, Rene Origel of Thornton; sisters, Teresa Origel of Isleton, Luisa Origel of Mexico and Maria Guadalupe Origel of Galt; brothers, Heron and Arnulfo Origel, both of Galt; and five grandchildren.

Commital was private. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at Mater Ecciesaie Church in Thornton, with Deacon Porfi officating.

San Diego del Alejandria assisted the familywith arrangements.
