Claire ‘Nick’ Hansen

Claire Nicholas ‘Nick’ Hansen, 92, of Lodi, died Feb. 26. He was born Oct. 6, 1921, near Woodstock, Minn.

Mr. Hansen moved with his family to Fairfield as a teenager, where he graduated from high school. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Eighth Army Air Corps in England, completing 11 combat missions over Germany flying B-17s, earning two Bronze Star awards. He continued flying as a career for 30 years and lived in many locations around the world. His hobbies were senior softball and restoring his Hillman Super Minx.

He is survived by his daughter, Elena Hansen; and son, Nicholas Hansen Jr.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. today at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon.

Donahue Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangments.
