Donald E. Netherda, 83, of Woodbridge, died May 18. He was born on May 13, 1931, in Lake Andes, S.D.

Mr. Netherda served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He studied at the University of Washington, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He then came to California, where he was a tire salesman in Daly City, Eureka and Sunnyvale until he and his wife purchased the Tire Exchange in Placerville, which they operated for 30 years. In 1996, they moved to Woodbridge to be closer to family.

He was a member of Placerville Masonic Lodge No. 26 F&AM and Lodi American Legion Post No. 22, where he was a life member. He was also a past member and past president of the local chapter of Rotary International. He enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Netherda of Woodbridge; daughter, Shawn Lord of Linden; son, Mark Netherda of Santa Rosa; sisters, Darlene Sheridan of Colorado, Belva Meanor of Palm Desert and Carol Jones of Washington; brothers, Sam Netherda of Placerville and Elwyn “Butch” Netherda of Washington; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Marlys Enes.

No services are planned at this time.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Rocha’s All Faiths Cremation & Burial is assisting the family with arrangements.
