Mary Palmer, 88, of Galt, died Oct. 1. She was born Mary Imogene Dunn on Aug. 13, 1925, in Stratford, Okla.

Ms. Palmer lived in Galt for 65 years. She was a hard worker who held several jobs, including owning a diner with her two sisters and building airplanes during World War II. She enjoyed reading and crochet.

Ms. Palmer is survived by her sons, Robert Schubert of Galt and Charles Palmer of Visalia; daughter, Karen Murray of Galt; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Schubert; and three sisters.

Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 19 at Hicksville Cemetery on Arno Road.

Ben Salas Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
