James Simmons Jr., 83, of Acampo, died Feb. 23. He was born July 17, 1930, in Camden, N.J.

Mr. Simmons was a retired iron worker. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his daughters, Rosemarie Krinkle and Judy Carnette; son, James Simmons; six grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Bessie Simmons; daughters, Catherine Marie and Lisa Ann; brother, Charles Simmons; and sister Lillian Gibbs.
