Walter James Hansen, 82, of Lodi, died Oct. 16. He was born Nov. 2, 1929, in Kerman.

Mr. Hansen served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a land leveler and later was self-employed as a gardener. He enjoyed playing cards and board games, and traveling, especially to Lake Tahoe and Fort Bragg. He was a member of Fairmont Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lodi.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia "Ginny" Hansen of Lodi; daughters, Kathy Russell and Sandy Farmer, both of Lodi, and Marna Theroff of Oregon; sons, Robert Jordan of Lodi and Todd Hansen of Minnesota; brother, Dick Hansen; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

As per his wishes, services and committal will be private.

Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
