Eileen Singer Chaffee, 88, of Lawrence, Kan. and formerly of Lodi, died on Aug. 18. She was born Nov. 21, 1923 in Boston.
Mrs. Chaffee worked for Delta Medical Laboratories as a medical technologist. She earned her bachelor's degree in bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin, and later attended graduate school at Oregon State University. She was a founding member of the Lodi theatrical group The Tokay Players. The group put on many plays for Lodians during the years of its existence, and she was active as a director and assistant director.
She is survived by her sons, Dan Chaffee of Houston and Paul Chaffee of Albany; and grandson, Laszlo Chaffee.
