Donald “Don” William Stroup, 79, of Lodi, died July 30. He was born Aug. 5, 1934, in Mishawaka, Ind.

Mr. Stroup attended Mishawaka High School and graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School in South Bend, Ind. in 1953. He later attended Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind. He enjoyed traveling through the 50 states. He was an active member of Temple Baptist Church in Lodi for 10 years, where he led the music for his Sunday School class.

He is survived by his wife, Alma Taylor Stroup; daughters, Faith Ann Slusher of Frazier Park, Melody Joy Hunter of Edwardsburg, Mich. and Dawn Anita Maxon of Elk Grove; son, David Donald Stroup of South Bend; sister, Leona Ruth White of Madison, Conn.; brothers, Dale Stroup of Huntington Beach, William Stroup of Lakeville, Ind., John Stroup of South Bend and Daniel Stroup of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard R. Stroup, Darrell Dean Stroup and James Stroup.

A memorial service will be held at Temple Baptist Church at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Temple Baptist Church, Children’s Building Fund.

Mr. Stroup donated his body to science.
