Josefina G. Alvarez, 85, of Stockton and formerly of Lodi, died Feb. 5. She was born on Dec. 15, 1928, in Texas.

Mrs. Alvarez worked at a cannery for 20 years. She was a member of Lighthouse Ministries.

She is survived by her sons, Joe Alvarez, Frank Alvarez, Raymond Alvarez and Richard Alvarez; daughters, Lupe DeLeon, Alice Alvarez-Aguila, Elva Gutierrez and Beatrice Rodriguez; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 34 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Alvarez; son, Paul Alvarez; daughter, Jenny Alvarez; and grandson, Orlando Aguila.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cherokee Memorial Park. A chapel service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lodi Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
