Yoshiye Kamei, 92, of Lodi, died Oct. 7. She was born Nov. 7, 1919 in Sacramento.
Mrs. Kamei graduated from Auburn High School. While in high school, she was very talented at drawing and painting. During World War II she was sent to the Tule Lake Internment camp. After the war she moved to Honolulu, where she was a seamstress. She retired from Sears. She was a member of the Lodi Buddhist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Yoshimi Kamei; sons, David Kamei and Dean Kamei; sister, Nobuye Sakahara; and brother, Tommy Daijogo.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the Lodi Buddhist Church. Inurnment will be private at Cherokee Memorial Park.
Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
