Carolyn Jean "Jeanie" Davenport, 60, of Stockton and formerly of Lodi, died Sept. 3 in a Stockton hospital. She was born on Aug. 11, 1942, in San Diego.
Mrs. Davenport moved to the Stockton area with her parents in 1948. She graduated from Stagg High School and Maude Cromwell business school and later attended Sacramento City College.
She married Ray Davenport in 1963 and was a homemaker. She also worked for Diamond Walnut Growers and later was the office administrator for Davenport Associates. She was also engaged in farming in Lodi.
She was a member of the Beta Kappa Sorority and the Lodi Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. She was a past member of the Women of the Moose Lodi Lodge and the East Main Street Church of Christ in Stockton.
She enjoyed trips to Tahoe, shopping, traveling and cruising.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Ray Davenport of Stockton; sons, Gregory Davenport of Lodi and Randy Davenport of Stockton; daughter, Andrea Adams of Escalon; parents, Owen and Eula Mae McCollum of Stockton; sisters, Judy Maddax of Stockton and Kim Johnson of Bishop; and six grandchildren
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Evergreen Chapel of Cherokee Memorial Park & Funeral Home, Highway 99 and Harney Lane, Lodi. Committal will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi.
