Adeline "Della" Senner, 86, of Lodi, died July 20, after a lengthy illness. She was born on March 23, 1917, in Colharbor, N.D.

Mrs. Senner moved to Lodi when she was one and a half years old. She married her husband Edward J. Senner on Sept. 3, 1933, in Lodi. The couple lived and worked on the Canal Ranch near Thornton from the time of their marriage until their retirement in 1976. She served her country as a plane spotter during World War II.

She was a member of the Galt Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she was head of the church's Dorcas for more than 27 years. She was an active member of the PTA in Thornton and Galt, and a 4-H sewing leader.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting and flower arranging. She also enjoyed traveling across the USA and abroad with her husband.

She is survived by her husband of more than 69 years, Edward J. Senner, of Lodi; daughter, Kathleen Foley, of Galt; sister, Lillie Johnson, of Sacramento; brother, Emile Nitschke, of Sacramento; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gordon Senner, of Rescue; sisters, Olga Compton, Ida Box, Esther Vetter, Clara Clark and Elsie Morey; and brothers, Edward Nitschke, Matthew Nitschke and Edgar Nitschke.

A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Galt Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Ben Salas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
