Eugene Robert Egbert, 89, of San Rafael and formerly of Lodi, died June 23. He was born June 26, 1923 in Lodi.

Mr. Egbert attended local schools and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He also attended and graduated from University of the Pacific. He worked as a Far East passenger manager for a steamship line for 26 years.

He is survived by his son, Robert Egbert of San Rafael; daughter, Linda Egbert of San Rafael; and sister, Beverly Stanton of Carmel.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgiana Egbert; and infant son, Robert Egbert.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, Highway 99 and East Harney Lane, Lodi. Committal will be private. Visitation will be held from noon until the service at in the chapel.

Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
