Clarence ‘Clancy’ Spain Shands, 76, of Lodi, died May 11. He was born June 2, 1936 in Galena, Kan.

Mr. Shands retired from Marino Trenching where he was a heavy equipment operating engineer.

He is survived by his sons, Jeff Shands of Woodbridge and Joe Shands of Sacramento; daughter, Quinn Shands of Lodi; sister, Fay Howell; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Giles Shands; and brothers, Jack and William Shands.

A private cremation ceremony was held in Carmel.

Rocha’s Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
