Donald Carl Hill, 84, of Lodi, died Nov. 10, He was born Aug. 5, 1929, in Colorado.

Mr. Hill served in the Air Force from 1947 to 1957. After leaving the military, he went into law enforcement as a deputy for the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department from 1958 to 1968, and then as an officee for the Santa Barabara Police Department from 1970 until his retirement in 1986. He attended local schools.

He is survived by his daughter, Diane Stone of Shingle Springs; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lora Hill; and sisters, Doris Martin, Dorothy Tunnell, Lucille Thomas, Shirley McGuire, and Audrey Ferguson.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Cherokee Memorial Park.

Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
