Rose Nightengale

Rose E. Nightengale, 87, of Lodi, died Aug. 17. She was born Oct. 3, 1925 in Lamont, Okla.

Mrs. Nightengale was a substitute teacher until she took a job with Lodi Unified School District at Live Oak School, where she worked until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and enjoyed traveling, reading and playing basketball. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, T.J.; daughter, Bonnie Sherwood; and son, Tobias Nightengale.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Nightengale.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Cherokee Memorial Park, Highway 99 and East Harney Lane in Lodi. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
