Ray Scheideman

Ray Scheideman, 71, of Lodi, died June 13 at a local hospital of natural causes following a brief illness. He was born on Dec. 17, 1930, in Lodi, where he was raised.

Mr. Scheideman attended Fresno State University following his graduation from Monterey Bay Academy. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-54 during the Korean War. He was employed by Solari Vineyards in Calistoga, and later by Paul Masson Vineyards in the Salinas Valley, retiring in 1991.

He was a member of the Lodi Elks Lodge No. 1900 and a past member of the Lions Club in Fresno. He enjoyed boating, air shows, fishing, camping and attending Fresno State reunions.

He is survived by his daughters, Jacqueline Vinecour of Linden and Janise Karmi of Redding; sons, David Ray, Danny Kay and Darren Lee Scheideman of Redding; brothers, Kenneth Scheideman of Lodi, Dale Scheideman of Shafter and Wayne Scheideman of Lodi; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Scheideman-Luis; and brother, Lyle Scheideman.

A chapel service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lodi Funeral Home with Dr. S. P. Walls of Woodbridge Community Church officiating. Committal will be private.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
