Norman D. Satterthwaite, 92, of Lodi, died Aug. 29. He was born June 20, 1921, in Tumwater, Wash.

Mr. Satterthwaite worked as an air traffic controller. He served in the U.S. Navy and flew aircrafts in World War II and the Korean War. He enjoyed spending time outside especially in the woods.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Satterthwaite; daughters, Susan Fior and Melinda Bauer; sons, Orrin Snyder IV, Eric Snyder and Jason Satterthwaite; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers.

A chapel service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave., Lodi. Committal will be private. There will be no visitation.
