William Everett Copeland III, 81, of Galt, died June 14. He was born May 25, 1932, in New Haven, Conn.
Mr. Copeland graduated from Hamden High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Later he served as commander of the VFW in Lockeford. He was a fireman for the New Haven Railroad and a warehouse manager. He enjoyed trains, the Boston Red Sox, dancing to country western music and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Lemmon Copeland of Galt; daughter, Nancy Popovich of Ohio; son, Russell Copeland of Galt; brother, Harry Copeland; sisters, Betty and Flora; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Galt Cemetery, with Rev. Jon Kibler-McCabe officiating. A reception will immediately follow the services at Emerald Village Club House.
