USA Elite 12U win NSA State Championship

USA Elite 12U based in Lodi started the 3 day NSA State Championship tournament on Frdiay, July 7, beating NorCal Cruisers 5-1 and a close 2-1 win against Madera Destroyer in pool play to place 4th seed into Saturday and Sunday double elimination rounds.

The team's hitting came alive Saturday scoring 31 runs, a homerun over the fence by Sierra Martinez and solid pitching by Ariana Lozano and Carley Morfey to allow only one run.

They had an impressive Saturday beating NorCal Cruiser 11-1, Afterschock 12-0, and Mojo 8-0 advancing them to the semi-finals on Sunday. They continued their hitting and solid defense beating Central Valley Extreme 8-0 to advance to the championship game.

USA Elite fell behind 3-0 early in the top of the first inning, but came alive to lead 8-3 in the third inning. USA Elite ended the fourth inning 12-1.

Pitcher Carley Morfey with solid defen! se in the outfield with Brittney Perez, Felicia Ceja, Sydney Marks, Kalani Cox combined with solid infielders Sierra Martinez, Marisa Stockton, Kiana Parrish, Ariana Lozano and catcher Alex Preston beat the Central Valley Extreme 13-1 to win the 2012 NSA State Championship in the 12A Division.
