Stockton Storm FC 04G Elite Win 2012 Under 9 Girls State Cup Soccer Championship
The Stockton Storm FC 04G Elite Soccer Team achieved the ultimate prize by winning the coveted NorCal Premiere 2012 State Cup in the highest of all divisions and against the best Under 9 girls teams in all of Northern California. It was the youngest team to ever achieve this feat from the Central Valley.
It was a rewarding end to an amazing year for the girls who had high expectations going into competition as the #1 ranked team overall in their age group after a 17-0 start to the year. Playing with targets on their back, the girls excelled by defeating top clubs from the Bay Area, Sacramento Area, Valley, & Southern California en route to 4 tournament championships. They would finish with a dominating 54-1-11 record while outscoring opponents by a wide margin 273-54.
Head Coach David Rapier: “It was a total team effort. They achieved this through their hard work, belief in themselves, unwavering competitive spirit, and a real love for the game. These girls have shown more heart than I’ve seen in kids twice their age, even when faced with adversity. I’m very proud of what they were able to accomplish, and their parents should be commended for not only allowing them the opportunity to succeed, but for the sense of family and support they provided to the entire team along the way.”
Team members are from all parts of the city representing Stockton, Lincoln, & Lodi Unified School Districts. Stockton Storm FC 04G Elite is Lisette Almanza(Aspire Port City Academy), Alana Anicas(Merryhill School), Meghan Debudey(St. Luke’s Catholic School), Ariana Flores(Brookside School), Abigail Kern(Stockton Collegiate International), Marivic Lek-Miro(Creekside Elementary), Andraya Perez(Commodore Skills School), Isabella Rapier(Brookside School), Lea Rivera(Commodore Skills School), Gurpreet Sohal(Merryhill School), Amber Thorpe(Kohl Open School), Ashley Thorpe(Kohl Open School), & Caitlyn Wong(Shasta Elementary), Head Coach David Rapier, Assistant Coach Daniel Flores, and Assistant Coach Barbaro Perez.
The girls are eager to defend their title, and are having tryouts January 19th & 20th @ the San Joaquin Regional Sports Complex at Arch Rd. from 2:00pm-4:00pm on both days. Tryouts will also be held for boys & girls with birthdays from Aug. 2005 - July 2006 for Under 8’s, Aug. 2004 - July 2005 for Under 9’s & Aug. 2003 - July 2004 for Under 10’s. Storm FC is looking for players from the greater Stockton, Lodi, Tracy, or Modesto areas & beyond.
