First Homerun In Little League
Our 9 year old grandson, Dominic Rodriguez, hit his first homerun at Julien Field in Turlock on March 25, 2013. It climbed over the score board and over the fence it went out of center field. Dominic plays for the defending Turlock City Champs the RiverCats where he holds the positions as pitcher and catcher. Our son, Cory Rodriguez is the manager and one of the coaches. This team has won their first 5 games with some impressive scores. Dominic was all smiles as he rounded the bases with a huge high five from a teary eyed dad before he was dog piled at home plate! What an accomplishment for a 9 year old. Dominic moves on to the major team the Yankees next season with dad as his coach.

Dual devotion
Victor Vega of Lodi, right, is pictured with his girlfriend Tanya Johnson at a recent San Francisco Giants game. Vega is wearing a customized Giants/A’s jersey that he got stitched together by Wanda Brewer, a seamstress and manager at Woodlake Cleaners in Lodi; Brewer made them into two unique combo jerseys. A big fan of both the A’s and Giants, Vega had the idea for a combined jersey last season, when he thought the two Bay Area teams could potentially meet in the World Series. He eventually got the jersey made this spring, in time for the 2013 season. Brewer said Vega’s combo jerseys (Buster Posey of the Giants and Yoenis Cespedes of the A’s) are the first of the sort that she has done. “I’m sure it won’t be the last,” Brewer said. “It’s quite a conversation piece.”

First Day Of Spring Break
Our son, Cory Rodriguez took our two grandchildren, Dominic and Emma fishing at McSwain for their first day of spring break. Looks like it was a very successful day. Big brother Dominic would cast for Emma and bait the hook but she made it quite clear she reeled them in all by herself! Dad did confirm this. Emma said her daddy cooked them really good but McDonalds was better when they had breakfast! The best part of the whole trip was getting up in the dark!
