Junior League names new Board President
Junior League of San Joaquin County (JLSJC) has named Nicole Goehring as president of the 2013-2014 Board of Directors. The Board includes:, President-Elect; Monica Harman, First Vice President Community Service; Shawnna Weber, Second Vice President Membership; Malcoun, Third Vice President Fundraising; Elly Washington, Fourth Vice President Communications; Dawn James, Recording Secretary; Margarita Reyes, Treasurer; Marla Livengood, Assistant Treasurer; Sandy Kiefer, and Parliamentarian; Suzette Calderone. Marliyn de Polo and Carol Gassner will serve as Sustaining Advisors.
JLSJC is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers, whose purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. To commemorate one of its members who exemplifies JLSJC's charitable volunteer efforts, the Eleanor Young Award was given to Stefani Delucchi for her outstanding volunteer service to Junior League and our community for the last ten years as an "active" JL member.
Junior League of San Joaquin County is recognized in our community for implementing projects and partnerships that impact women, children and families in need and for creating an environment that fosters personal growth, leadership, and friendship. Notable programs include the "Ready to Learn" Backpack program, One-on-One Reading program and Reading Challenge contests; all designed to improve literacy and learning in elementary schools.
