Waterloo Morada firefighters donate firetruck for Santa

Posted: Monday, December 10, 2012 11:49 pm

Waterloo Morada firefighter Mark Lucchesi last year (same year he loses his wife of 24 yrs passes away unexpectedly) donates a ancient, very old firetruck to the station he has worked at for the past 25 years! He donated the 1950 firetruck in hopes they would be able to restore it (they meaning just the crew on his shift) in time for Santa Claus this year, and drive Santa Claus around their district to bring Christmas carols to those who hear. They have worked hundreds of hours for months, getting others in their connections to help donate their help to get this truck in working orders ... all for bringing some christmas cheer to those they pass. They installed a borrowed sound sytem for singing Christmas carols and lights across the engine to highlight the beauty of such an antique. It's amazing that these guys who protect our lives work the extra effort to bring those they will pass lots of xmas cheer with santa of corse to hand out candy canes as they drive the lighted engine through the Morada/Stockton district. They will only be out Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenng this week. I hope this story makes the newspaper locally for these firefighters are truly a gift of joy to not only protecting the public in case of fire, saving lives and going to such great effort to bring this truck to life for all to enjoy!
