Stockton, California- As a following tribute to Cesar Chavez Drama’s first performance of the year is a humorous full length play. Drama students are eager as ever to showcase what they do best and that is in creating a captivating story line.  This amusing production, No Vacancy, will bring laughter to the crowd and will promise a night worth remembering.
“The brand new Apple Tree Inn has been opened for a maximum of three weeks and Diana, the hotel manager, is anxious that no one will ever check in. A miraculous occurrence happens and pop star sensation Jordan Wieber shows up, bringing with him a flood of chaos. Now Diana is left to face all of Wieber’s overriding fans, sneaky hotel inspectors, and undercover police officers. To make matters worse the appearance of a dead body soon threatens to shut down Diana’s hotel.” (Brooklyn Publishers).
Playing the main lead for the first time is senior student Meami Maszewhi. Being part of Drama for a year, Meami carries the right enthusiasm for the arts and her love for acting will be revealed as she performs her role as Diana on stage.  A few of the secondary leads will be fellow students Valeria Reyes and Chris Perez. Even though junior student, Valeria Reyes, has little experience being on stage, her dedication is admirable to all her class peers. Performing the hilarious neurotic head security Fowler is the well known Drama student Chris Perez. As it is, Perez’s involvement with Drama since freshman year has given him a good ease with the spotlight and the advantages for this will be showcased.
No Vacancy’s opening night will be for November 8th with a repeat showing on the 9th. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and close at 7:00 p.m with only $5 for entry. The serious dedication the students have given towards this performance will be apparent in the easy manner they manage to get into character. All the long hours of practice the students have committed can give a clear indication of their devotion for the performing arts and their strong desire to bring the best on stage for the audience.
