I worked as a volunteer on May 11 as a fellow University of California Cooperative Extension Master Gardener, emptying and refilling the Downtown flower pots.
Retired Street Superintendent Curt Juran, now in training Class of 2013 UCCE Master Gardener, led this work, ordered the plants, etc. Thirteen volunteers showed up to work five hours, heaving and hoeing, digging out very root-bound pots. Red, white and blue plants replaced old plant material. Hope the Lodi folks enjoy the change!
