Ralph Cesena Jr and Michael Swearingen both perform locally as founders of the “Vine Dawgz” classic rock band, but this Saturday they will be doing something unique in Lodi .. putting on a Dueling Pianos act at the Rusted Mic in Downtown Lodi.

The act features sing-along music that encourages audience participation, and will also feature impromptu jam sessions with other local musicians who may drop by during the evening.

“This act is something new for this area”, said Cesena who is the Vine Dawgz bassist and pianist with Dueling Dawgz. “It will be interesting to see if Lodi is ready for a sing-along act!”.

Cesena came up with the idea after visiting several famous dueling piano bars, including “John Foley’s Irish Pub” at Union Square in San Francisco. He enlisted fellow Vine Dawgz Keyboardist Swearingen to combine their talents and bring something new to Lodi.

“Downtown has a booming music scene that is really quite impressive for a town of this size”, said Swearingen. “We wanted to create something unique that would stand out from the clutter of three piece bands and acoustic duos”.

Dueling Dawgz is just that ..part dueling pianos, part all-star musician jam.. that will encourage the audience to sing along, sing WITH the band (Dueling Dawgz Karaoke), jam with the band, and just have a fantastic time!

Dueling Dawgz will perform 8:00pm until 11:00pm on Friday, March 21 at The Rusted Mic in downtown Lodi.
