Barbara Portal, president of the board for the Lodi Community Band, announced the awarding of  music camp scholarships to two local music students, Robert Miner and Nicole Rosales. The camps are held at University of Pacific.

Robert Miner, a 2010 graduate of Bear Creek High School, attends San Joaquin Delta College, where he plays flute with the day band. He also plays with the Lodi Community Band and is a member of the flute trio, called Frisky Flutes.

Nicole Rosales plays french horn and is a 2010 Lodi High graduate. She played with the Lodi Community Band until beginning her studies at Cosumnes River College.

The Lodi Community Band annually awards music camp scholarships to deserving local student musicians to help further their interest in music. This effort is supported through contributions to the Lodi Community Band.
