Officers for the Widowed Persons Association of California
Chapter No. 6 were recently installed by outgoing President Amelia
Ernst at a luncheon on Dec. 3 at the Woodbridge Country Club. The
new officers for 2012 are Shirley Highsmith, president; Willo
Schmidt, first vice president; Gwen Mello, second vice president;
Carol Henderson, secretary; Earlene Sanders, treasurer; and Amelia
Ernst, parliamentarian.
We feel it is important to keep information about our WPAC
before the public to continue to reach out to newly widowed persons
in our area. The purpose of WPAC No. 6 is to provide a support
group for widowed men and women of all ages and promote a wide
range of social activities through which widowed persons have the
opportunity to make friends and find redirection in their lives. We
also support local charities throughout the year.
We meet the second Saturday of each month for a social luncheon
and business meeting at the Woodbridge Country Club, 800 E.
Woodbridge Road. Our Outreach Bereavement meets on the second and
fourth Wednesday of each month at Hutchins Street Square. Those who
attend these meetings do not have to be members. We invite all
interested persons to call 209-339-4680 for more information.
