About 68 retired teachers and administrators from Lodi Unified District high schools exchanged news and reminiscences at their recent luncheon meeting at the Woodbridge Golf and Country Club.
Most of them were from Lodi and Tokay high schools, with a sprinkling from Bear Creek and McNair.
The luncheon was coordinated and hosted by Beverly Lacy, who taught at Lodi High and also had district responsibilities. She is the fifth host since the group was first started by history teacher Dan Boone about 30 years ago. Guy P. Wakefield succeeded Boone, followed by Elvera Melby and Vanadeane Brooks. All were notable in their educational service. LeRoy Carney, a former Tokay High principal, once again came the farthest for the occasion — from Santa Cruz.
