Starting July 1, the Lodi Tokay Rotary Club has a new president.

Mark Hamilton is a California transplant who grew up in Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. He is a business development manager working for Keane Inc. in the health care informatics industry. Hamilton lives with his wife, Carie, and has two step-children, Brad, 17, who attends Lodi High, and Conner, 12, who will be attending Millswood Middle School.

Hamilton’s hobbies include creating and coordinating public art projects as a member of Project Lodi Art, spending spare time camping and boating all over California.

His Rotary year theme and mission is, “Taking Back Lodi One Child at a Time.” The mission is to reach out to, and partner with, existing entities and help our up-and-coming educators rebuild the community/education partnership that succeeded so well 50 years ago. The plan includes developing relationships with and supporting the diverse ethnic groups and businesses that make Lodi the unique community it is.

The Lodi Tokay Rotary Club has partnered with Lawrence Elementary School and Lincoln Technical School, helping to fund needed programs and scholarships. His year will leverage and expand on the work done by past presidents.

Each year the club sponsors high school students in multiple ways. This includes youth leadership training camp, international exchange, and both academic and vocational scholarships. The club also hosts a number of events in Lodi including the Consumer Wine Awards at Lodi and Oktoberfest.

The club meets at noon most Mondays at the Elks Lodge in Woodbridge.
