On Aug. 4, Dan Jobrack, master of the Lodi Masonic Lodge No. 256, presented the first Henry and Karen Hansen Memorial Fund Civic Youth Group check in the sum of $1,000 to Wiqar Shah, interim chief executive officer of the Lodi Boys and Girls Club.

The Lodi Boys and Girls Club is an affiliate member of the Boys & Girls Club of America, Inc. and received its national charter in 1964. With 14 full-time and 50 part-time staff members, they provide support and services to over 6,000 members of Lodi’s youth.

Jobrack stated that this $1,000 gift is the first of the Lodi Lodge’s planned annual Henry and Karen Hansen Memorial Civic Youth Group monetary awards and is intended to acknowledge the outstanding contributions these organizations provide to Lodi’s youths.

The Lodi Masonic Lodge and its members have been serving the Lodi community for more than 132 years.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
