My name is Monica Stelmack, I am a parent volunteering to support the Central Valley Youth Symphony (CVYS) with the publicity.

Central Valley Youth Symphony has been serving San Joaquin County since 1965. CVYS provides young people, ages 8-22, with the opportunity to play great symphonic music while making new friends! Weekly rehearsals held at the University of the Pacific, prepare our student musicians for 3-4 concerts each season which take place in Stockton, Tracy and Lodi. CVYS features two orchestras. Students in both groups receive expert coaching from Music Director Thomas Derthick and Preparatory Orchestra Conductor Shane Kalbach, who are assisted by the faculty and students from the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music.

CVYS has openings auditions for the 2014-15 for new and returning member to each of its two orchestras: the Preparatory Orchestra for intermediate students and the Symphony for more advanced students.

Auditions will be offered by appointment only on Tuesday 8/26 through Thursday 8/28. For more information about CVYS, requirements and appointments for audition can be made by contacting CVYS at 1(888) FOR-CVYS or, visiting the website www.cvys.org.

Yours sincerely,

Monica Stelmack
