On July 11, Trista Dowdy received a check in the amount of $5,000 from the Lodi Lodge Beckman Educational Fund. The fund, established in 2012 by Lodge member Ellsworth Beckman and his wife Janet, was established to assist members of the Lodi Chapter DeMolay and members of Cloud 7 Assembly, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, if they wished to extend their education beyond high school. Dowdy is the first recipient of a grant from the fund.
Dowdy joined Cloud 7 Assembly in 2004, and has held a host of assembly offices and served as Worthy Advisor twice. Dowdy was awarded the Grand Cross of Color in 2011. She was also appointed to a number of state level positions including Grand Page to the California Supreme Inspector in 2012, Grand Immortality and Grand Representative to Illinois and Wisconsin in 2012.
Currently, she is attending California State University at Humboldt majoring in environmental science with an emphasis in ecological restoration. She is the daughter of Lisa and Steve Dowdy of Galt.
