Lodi Elks Lodge No. 1900 held a Flag Day ceremony on June 9. Dave Binning, Exalted Ruler, along with fellow officers, told of the historical relevance of each flag as the Boy Scouts of Troop No. 199 paraded the flags in front of the audience.

Afterwards there was a continental breakfast for the Boy Scouts to enjoy. Later that morning, a gin fizz charity brunch was held for Elk member participants and their guests.

The event raised $350 towards the major project, which helps children with disabilities. John Rochon was the Elk chairman of that event. He was assisted by Elk volunteers. Local businesses and Elk members donated raffle items towards the fundraising efforts.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
