Last month, seven members of the Lodi American Legion Post 22 met at the Legion Hall on Washington Street, and from there went out to visit shut-ins in assisted living facilities. They delivered poinsettias (in a pot) and Christmas gift bags to more than 60 Veterans of World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the Persian Gulf wars.

Martin Jones, Bob Gross, Edwin Dammel, Pat Fitzgerald, Julian Lopez, Glenn Biddy and Kevin Ehman visited all of the assisted living homes in the greater Lodi area.

The purpose was to wish residents a Merry Christmas and to thank veterans for their unselfish service to America.
