The Rotary Clubs of Lodi and Galt recently hosted a dinner with a special guest speaker, Richard D. King, at the Woodbridge Golf and Country Club.

King gave an emotion filled speech describing his life of service as a Rotarian, at times bringing his audience to tears. He emphasized “Service above Self” as the motto of all Rotarians. Rotary is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. What have you done today to make a difference? Ask a Rotarian.

A Rotarian since 1968, King has been a leader in Rotary, serving virtually every position at the club, district, and international levels. As a former World President of Rotary International, he has been honored and decorated by the heads of state of many nations for his personal contributions to goodwill and understanding in the world.
