The Lodi Lions Club recently celebrated the four year anniversary of its medical equipment loan program. The program is sponsored by the Lodi Lions Club with the equipment housed at Wise Choice Storage in Lodi. The medical equipment includes crutches, walkers, canes, commodes, medical trays, wheel chairs, and other non-motorized equipment available to rent for free to the greater Lodi area. Patrons sign out an item as a loan then return it after use.

“With the cost of medical equipment and rentals going up, this is a valuable service to Lodi residents that are going through physical therapy or for the elderly,” said Eddie Baker, Lion member and co-manager of Wise Choice Storage in Lodi. The Lions would like to thank everyone who contributed donations of equipment guaranteeing the success of this program. This is a perfect example of the community combining efforts with the Lodi Lions Club to in turn make a difference in our community.

The medical equipment loan program has served the needs of hundreds of individuals over the four years of the program’s existence. Currently, the demand has been exceeding the supply of equipment and the Lions Club is requesting that any citizens that have medical equipment that is no longer being used, to consider donating it to the Lions medical equipment loan program. Arrangements can be made for a Lions member to pick up donated medical equipment.

For equipment donations or loans, please contact Lion Eddie or Bridget Baker at 368-7064. Wise Choice storage facility is located at 645 Hale Rd, off of Cherokee Lane. The medical equipment is available Tuesday through Saturday. Wise Choice Self Storage can be found on the web at www.wisechoicestorage.com.

The Lodi Lions Club meets every Wednesday at noon at Burgundy Hall at the Grape Festival grounds. For more information, visit www.LodiLions.org.
