Liberty Oaks Pony Club is delighted to welcome two new members, Mattison and Mikenzie Owning at Gateway Farm in Acampo. Hoping to further their horse management skills and knowledge and hone their riding skills, Lizzy Fickert, Lyndsey McKinney, Savanah Spears, Sophie Weisman, Miranda Olagary, Kaitlin Ramos, and Ashley Buck attended Sierra Pacific Regional Camp at Eventful Acres in Oregon House.

Laura Weisman Olagary also participated. She is a parent of riders and sponsor of Liberty Oaks Pony Club. During their time at camp, riders received instruction in dressage, show jumping and cross country, finishing off by performing musical dressage rides in pairs or fours for their families and friends. Some members are planning to show their skills at an upcoming dressage schooling show in Wilton at Pacific Equestrian Center and an event at Woodland Stallion Station.

On September 13, Liberty Oaks Pony Club will be hosting a Dressage Rally at MarVal Stables for Sierra Pacific Region. Clubs from Northern California and Nevada will be sending teams of four riders and a stable manager to participate. They will set up tack rooms and compete for awards for both riding and horse management. Parents are not allowed to assist.

Families and interested riders are welcome to attend. For more information, call Ann Fickert at 209-401-9191 or Liz Jenner at Gateway Farm’s message phone at 209-759-9700 or cell 209-327-6858. Liberty Oaks Pony Club meets on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month at Gateway Farm,18025 E. Collier Road, Acampo.
