At the April 2 Lodi City Council meeting, Library Board of Trustees President Caitlan Casey presented Nanette Green with one of three Library Volunteer of the Year awards and also announced that the Library Foundation office would be known as the Nanette Green Foundation Office.

Casey said she was proud to present this award to Green, who had served as a foundation director for the past 10 years. In that time, she had served as treasurer and president of the foundation. Casey said that she had never expected to see the library renovation completed, but due to Green’s efforts, the new and beautiful library would be open by the end of next month.

Casey said that Green was a retired school administrator who believed in the importance of the library as an adjunct to the education system in Lodi. Green is committed to the library’s being accessible to all. In addition, she communicates with people who will bring funding to the library and is a tireless advocate for the library. Finally, Green is responsible for getting the outstanding storytellers for our wonderful storyteller dinner.
